Lebigem Oy – 14 years of cutting-edge suspension solutions at the forefront of motorsport

Lebigem Oy is a Finnish company founded in 2010 with a vision to provide state-of-the-art suspension solutions for demanding conditions. The company’s roots date back to 2005, when the first Bigem shock absorbers were manufactured. Today, Lebigem is a recognised player in both the domestic and international motorsport community, and its products can be found in successful racing cars around the world.

From idea to reality: the story of Bigem

It all started with Marko Rämänen’s own passion for motorsport and the desire to create the best possible suspension solution for racing cars.

Marko Rämänen, an experienced rally driver and motorsport expert, was himself an active competitor in the Finnish Rally Championship and in England between 1988 and 2001. The experience gained on the race track and a deep understanding of suspension have been the cornerstones of the company from the very beginning.

The first Bigem shock absorbers were manufactured back in 2005. In the early years, Rämänen combined the manufacture of shock absorbers with his day job as a lecturer at a vocational school. Soon the demand grew and he decided to concentrate fully on his new business. In 2010, Lebigem Oy was founded and the company started operating from Lahti. As the business grew, the company moved in 2014 to its current premises in the Hollola industrial area.

Years of growth

Lebigem’s operations have grown steadily over the years. Capacity has been increased, for example by acquiring new machine tools and increasing human resources. In 2019, the company made a new foray into this area when it started subcontracting the manufacture of shock absorbers for forest machine cabins with Logset Oy, a Finnish forestry machine company.

Lebigem has also invested in digital growth with the opening of own webshop in 2020 and an active social media presence. In 2023, an extension of the premises provided more space for vehicle cranes and wheel alignment.

The company has also expanded geographically. Marko Rämänen’s international contacts and globalisation have opened up new, growing markets for Bigem shock absorbers. Today, Lebigem has distributors in seven countries and three continents, with exports accounting for up to 40 % of turnover.

Customer-oriented service with great passion

At Lebigem, every employee feels part of a shared success story. Today, the company employs 7 professionals in machining, assembly and administration.

The company’s activities are based on openness, honesty and understanding the customer’s needs. Long experience in motorsport ensures that customers always receive the best possible service and products. Whether you are an experienced racer or an enthusiast, we will help you find the suspension solution that best suits your needs.
